I started making art because I was spending a lot of time with a group of friends, many of whom were artists, and their creative energy permeated my being via osmosis. Fueled by this creative energy, I started making wire and glass bead sun catchers, jewelry and hair accessories. In 2009, I got involved with deco for a big event some friends of mine were doing and I decided to create my first big project. The result was a 2’x2’ Styrofoam and duct tape robot sculpture with several LEDs integrated into it and blacklight reactive paint.
At that point, I realized that I really enjoyed creating eye catching deco and art installations for events, especially blacklight reactive art, and that I wanted to help make free art accessible to everyone. I volunteer at Figment Boston each summer and volunteered at Figment First Night in 2013.
I have created deco and art installations for arts and music festivals, private events, Somerville and Fort Point Open Studios, Boston Decompression, gallery shows at The Gallery @ Broad Spectrum, and I was Artist of the Month in February 2015 at the Made in Fort Point store. In 2013, did an animal mask making workshop for children as part of the daytime activities for Boston’s First Night. In 2015, I participated in Figment First Night with a project called "Neon Icons". In the past, I have sold my jewelry and hair accessories at local artist bazaars and events, including Together and the HarborArts Festival and organize several artist bazaars at my prior studio space in Fort Point. I also started VJing in 2014 and had my first public VJ gig at Boston Decompression at Who's on First in Boston in November.
In July of 2015, I became sick with migraines with severe vertigo and visual obscurations. I'm currently working on learning how to live with that. You can read about that in my blog. I am finally able to work part time and working on making art again. I've been making jewlery and I've got some art projects coming up.
